STANDARD RESEARCH TERMS

Standard Research Terms

INTAGE Singapore conducts research in accordance with applicable industry standards, professional guidelines, and relevant regulations. Where specified in the project proposal or agreement, research will be conducted in compliance with ISO 20252: Market, Opinion and Social Research, including Insights and Data Analytics – Vocabulary and Service Requirements.

By commissioning a study with us, clients acknowledge and agree to the following standard terms.

1. Research Record Retention

Research records will be retained for the following period after the delivery of the final results. (This does not apply to personal information or unpublished confidential materials.)

  • Primary research records (raw response data without processing): retained for 12 months
  • Final copies of all other documents and datasets: retained for 24 months

After the retention period, records may be securely disposed of in accordance with our internal data management policies.

2. Handling of Client Materials

Any materials provided by the client will be handled according to the client's instructions. If no specific instructions are provided, materials will be managed in accordance with INTAGE Singapore's internal security and handling policies.

3. Client-Provided Content (Images, Videos, and Materials)

Where the client provides images, videos, or other copyrighted materials, the client confirms that the necessary copyrights, usage rights, and portrait rights have been secured prior to providing such materials to INTAGE Singapore.

4. Test Products Used in Research

If a research project involves test products, the client confirms the following:

  • The product complies with relevant safety standards in the country where the research is conducted.
  • For imported products not yet available in the target market, customs and quarantine procedures have been properly completed.

If a respondent reports an issue while using a test product:

  • The test will be stopped for the affected participant and the client will be notified.
  • If similar issues are reported by multiple participants, the test may be suspended or cancelled after consultation with the client.
  • If a participant requires medical attention related to a test product, the client may be requested to provide ingredient or raw material information for the product.

5. Client-Provided Personal Data

If the client provides lists of names, addresses, or other personal information, the client confirms that all legal requirements and permissions necessary for such use have been verified.

6. Handling of Participant Personal Information

To protect the privacy of research participants, clients receiving any personal data from the study must comply with applicable industry standards and privacy regulations.

Clients must agree to the following:

  • Personal information will not be disclosed or shared with third parties.
  • Individuals will not be identified in any reporting or analysis.
  • Information will be kept strictly confidential within the client's organization.
  • Personal data will be securely disposed of after the retention period.

If interview recordings are provided to the client, they must be used only for internal research purposes unless separate participant consent has been obtained.

Clients must ensure that all employees or representatives with access to such information comply with these requirements.

7. Client Observation of Fieldwork

When clients observe interviews or other fieldwork activities (either in person or via online viewing), the following conditions apply.

By observing the fieldwork, the client agrees to:

  • Treat all information seen or heard during observation as personal information, and comply with applicable data protection laws and regulations.
  • Provide INTAGE Singapore with the names of observers, attendance times, and viewing locations, and obtain prior approval.
  • Follow the instructions of INTAGE Singapore to avoid influencing participant responses or behavior.
  • Obtain prior approval before making any written notes, audio recordings, or video recordings involving personal information.
  • When viewing online, no photography, recording, or transmission of the session is permitted without explicit authorization.
  • Use information obtained during fieldwork observation solely for the analysis of the research project.
  • Not disclose any personal information about participants (or their families) to third parties, except for authorized stakeholders within the project.
  • Ensure that online viewing is conducted in a secure environment and using company-approved devices and networks.
  • Not contact or interact with research participants without prior permission from INTAGE Singapore.
  • Withdraw from observation if the observer personally knows the participant.

To ensure security and compliance, INTAGE Singapore may collect access logs and technical information (such as IP addresses) when online observation is conducted.
